STEPS:
1. DISCONNECT ORIGINAL BACKUP LIGHTS. If necessary disconnect
the wiring harness clips from the reinforcement bar.
2. OPEN REAR LIFT GATE
3. REMOVE PLASTIC SCUFF PANEL to access bumper bolts.
4. REMOVE PLASTIC GROMETS to access bumper bolts.
5. REMOVE ORIGINAL BUMPER COVER. Save original nuts to use
with new rollpan.
6. REMOVE ORIGINAL REINFORCEMENT. Save original screws to
use with new reinforcement.
7. TEST FIT PTEAZER URETHANE ROLL PAN before proceeding to
painting instructions #16.
IMPORTANT--Minor adjustments may be required prior to primer
and paint.
8. Depending on Exhaust Outlets required, openings need to
be cut out following the lines marked on inside of rollpan
using a jig saw or cut-off-wheel. Sand smooth using 400 grit
sand paper.
9. Attach four center angle brackets to the factory cover
slotted mounting holes on the rear body panels using factory
nuts from the old cover. NOTE: The brackets should be snug
but not tightened yet, as you may need to adjust them up or
down to align the roll pan.
10. INSTALL THE PTEAZER REINFORCEMENT using original factory
mounting locations.
11. Attach factory back-up lights to the threaded inserts
on roll-pan using supplied screws and washers. (Only the clear
lens will be visible through the tear-drop openings. It may
be necessary to enlarge the mounting holes slightly in the
original back up lights when fitting to the PTEAZER Rollpan.
This can be done using a small drill or rat tail file.
NOTE: Remember to plug in the license plate lamp before mounting
the roll pan.
12. Two people need to hold the new roll pan in place to avoid
scratching the vehicle. When the sides are attached, drill
a hole in the center of each of each of the four angle brackets,
carefully drilling through the top edge of the roll pan into
the brackets. Now slide angle brackets up or down as necessary
to align rollpan with rear hatch. Using the Phillips head
screws supplied, attach roll pan to brackets. IMPORTANT: Do
not over-tighten the screw as this will result in bending
the rollpan and may cause warping or waviness.
13. Drill holes for fender liner screws and attach fender
liner.
14. For additional security, MOUNT THE ANGLE BRACKET behind
the license plate housing using screws supplied. Hold bracket
flush against center of license plate housing on the back
side of the roll pan and screw up into the floor of vehicle.
Drill one hole through the rollpan into the bracket and attach
with the Phillips screw provided.
15. For the Smoothie Roll Pan only: You must remove factory
muffler for installation of a smaller rear muffler with a
turn-down tailpipe. (Approximately $ 75.00 at local shop).
IMPORTANT: Be sure to keep tailpipe at least one inch from
rollpan.
